Written by Caroline Aherne (Denise Royle), Craig Cash (Dave) and Henry Normal, the plight of the Royle family - Denise, Barbara, Jim and Anthony - captured audiences across Britain with it’s distinct black humour and clever take on the kitchen sink dramas synonymous with directors such as Mike Leigh and Ken Loach. EPISODE 2: The logistics of married life family dining is thrashed out and plans are well underway for Dave and Denise’s wedding. Everyone is eyeing the next door neighbours new purchase. EPISODE 3: Dinner commences between first and second generation family members. The women get a sneak peak of Denise’s wedding dress. EPISODE 4: Dad’s celebrating a birthday, much to his chagrin. Everyone is willing to join in, Jim just wants to go to the pub. EPISODE 5: There’s trouble in paradise as Denise and Dave bicker over Dave’s alleged flirtations. EPISODE 6: Wedding day arrives. Cast includes Caroline Aherne, Sue Johnston, Ricky Tomlinson, Ralf Little and Craig Cash.
