The Knowledge of Healing is the first feature length documentary dealing with Tibetan medicine. Originally recorded in Gyushi, “The Knowledge of Healing” is a medical manual written in the 12th century. Its text describes one of the most highly developed, holistic approaches to medicine, comprising its own pharmacopoeia of herbs, roots and minerals. The film explains the text through case studies of patients progressing under treatment for ailments and conditions deemed incurable in the West. The film also contains interviews with two leading Tibetan physicians as well as H.H. The Dalai Lama. In Tibetan, Russian, German and Buryat with English subtitles.
