Disillusioned with her life and the disintegration of her marriage to her childhood sweetheart (Nicolas Cage), former prom queen Peggy Sue (Kathleen Turner) reluctantly attends her 25 year high school reunion. Confronted by her past, she begins to regret her life choices and missed opportunities. Emotionally overwhelmed, she collapses during the reunion and awakens as herself 25 years earlier. Armed with experience and a second chance, she sets out, determined not repeat the same mistakes.
