This documentary traces the life and times of famous Afro-American blues musician John Lee Hooker. Born in the heart of the Mississippi Delta Hooker went on to become a famous, influential and highly respected player. Made for television this documentary features interviews with many of Hooker’s music peers, including Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Rait, Edie Kirkland and Robert Cray. Various artists discuss the influence of Hooker on their music and the remarkable life and times of this great artist. Family and friends discuss the cultural influence of Hooker and the effect that he had on them personally. Features a current interview with Hooker as well as archival footage of him playing in the 1950s. Songs include Dimples, Maudie, I’m in the mood, Crawlin’ Kingsnake, This is hip and Boogie chillin. John Lee Hooker died in 2001, at the age of 83.
