Aimed at carers in Community Residential Units (CRU), this short program provides practical advice on how to care for epilepsy sufferers. It outlines the importance of record keeping, routine, medication maintenance, treatment for status epilepticus and the recognition of independence. Features “Barry” (performed by Doug Pentland) a CRU resident and drawings by Dorothy Berry, as well as comments from epilepsy sufferers who explain what it feels like to have a seizure and what can trigger an attack. Contains footage of a tonic clonic seizure. Please note this video is not intended to function as a formal training guide and doesn’t contain a manual as stated on the tape.
