The Great Bookie Robbery

Three part mini series made in Melbourne in the late 1980s about the real life robbery of the Victoria Club in 1972. Several million dollars in cash was taken in a daring but meticulously planned armed hold up. As well as a stellar cast of well-known Australian actors, the city of Melbourne also fares well as a tough town underworld is exposed. This series dramatises the police investigation and details the more personal lives of the criminals including how the crime affects their partners, wives and family. Screenplay by Phillip Cornford.
