Lyrical fairytale in three acts of a water-nymph who falls in love with a human prince by Antonin Dvorak, libretto by Jaroslav Kvapil, produced by David Pountney and performed at the London Coliseum by the English National Opera Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Mark Elder. Features Eilene Hannan (Rusalka), John Treleaven (the Prince), Rodney Macann (the Water Spirit), Ann Howard (Jezibaba), Phyllis Cannan (the Foreign Princess), along with Cathryn Pope, Eileen Hulse, and Linda McLeod as the Wood-Nymphs. The simple but effective Victorian nursery setting with its fairytale atmosphere is designed by Stephanos Lazaridis.
