Heroic drama in three acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, libretto by Abbate Varesco, and performance by the Glyndebourne Chorus (Chorus Director - Jane Glover) and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (Leader - David Nolan) conducted by Bernard Haitink. This made for television production stars Philip Langridge (Idomeneo), Yvonne Kenny (Ilia), Jerry Hadley (Idamante), Carol Vaness (Electra), Thomas Hensley (Arbace) and Anthony Roden (High Priest). This is director Trevor Nunn’s debut into opera but recent credits include “Cats” and “The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby”.
