Manon Lescaut, an opera in four acts by Giacomo Puccini after the novel by Abbe Prevost, performed at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden by The Royal Opera supported by The Royal Opera Chorus and the Orchestra of The Royal Opera House conducted by Giuseppe Sinopoli. This lavish presentation of Puccini’s opera stars two of the world’s leading singers, Kiri te Kanawa as Manon and Placido Domingo in the role of her lover Chevalier Renato Des Grieux. The cast also includes Thomas Allen as Lescaut, Robin Leggate, George Macpherson, Forbes Robinson, Anna Cooper. Sung in Italian with an English translated guide included.
