Lucy (Sandra Bullock), a young subway ticket collector spends her days fantasising about one of her regular commuters, Peter (Peter Gallagher). One day fate intervenes when Lucy witnesses Peter being mugged at the station and tossed on to the tracks. Saving him from near death, Lucy gets Peter to hospital where through a misunderstanding his family assume that Lucy is Peter’s fiancee. However the plot takes a further turn when Lucy finds herself attracted to Peter’s brother Jack (Bill Pullman). A charming romantic screwball comedy. Cast also includes Peter Boyle, Glynis Johns, Micole Mercurio, Jack Warden.
