An insight into the work of the pearling industry on the northern coast of Australia. Shows the preparation of the diver before going below; the hazardous work as he gathers pearl shell from the sea floor; opening the shells, searching for pearls and packing the shell on board the lugger; return of the lugger to port and packing of the shell for export.
