Part two of a three part series. Dr Carl Dolmetsch describes the history of the viola da gamba and demonstrates how it is played. Shows its construction in the Dolmetsch workshops, along with some priceless instruments in their museum. The fortepiano is described and demonstrated and we see a recital by the Dolmetschs and Joseph Saxby. Suitable for secondary school level.
