Chauvel’s second sound feature was ambitious in scope spanning many decades in Australian history. The films traces the life and loves of James Morrison in colonial times and his descendant Frank Morrison in the 1930s struggling to survive on an outback station with the same determination as his ancestor. Cast, Franklyn Bennett, Norman French, Frank Harvey, Mary Maguire, Harold Meade, Margot Rhys, Joe Valli and Ann Wynn.
