Provides a brief history of trades shipping in Australia and goes on to outline the function of the Australia to Europe Shipping Conference. The conference comprises eighteen major international shipping companies including the Australian National Line which cooperate to provide a coordinated shipping service for the carriage of Australian exports to Europe at agreed freight rates. Highlights how the merger of technological and management skills can offer efficient service at reasonable rates. Suitable for upper secondary and teacher/tertiary levels.
