Focuses on Pierre Quinn, a young French-Canadian boy from Hauterive, Quebec, as he trains and performs along with other young dancers at the National Ballet School of Canada. When the school began, there were no male students but now of the 147 student one quarter are male. Theis change in attitude toward the male dancer was influenced to a great extent by Nuryev and Baryshnikov.
