Presents a behind-the-scenes look at the theatre and the roles of the playwright, director, actor and theatre production staff. Designed to promote students’ interest in the theatre and to provide them with an insight into the workings of two professional theatre companies - The Melbourne Theatre Company and Sydney’s King O’Malley Theatre Company. The program is divided into five sections: 1 What is theatre? 2 The playwright in society. 3 In rehearsal. 4 The performance. 5 Theatre in society.
