Episode of Series “On camera: the BBC video production course”.
Consist of four parts: 1. The “Camera and the eye”. Shows the difficulties faced by the camera lens as compared by the eye and notes the advantages of the camera. 2. “Lenses and apertures”. Explains focal length, angle of view, depth of field, aperture openings, the times 2 extender and the gain switch. 3. “Short sizes and camera moves”. Explains basic terminology - such as pan, tilt, depress, track and zoom. 4. “Crossing the line” Shows how to mantain continuity of direction to avoid confusing the viewer.
