Based on the novel by Chaim Potok which explores the friendship that develops between two adolescent Jewish boys living in New York in the 1940s. The boys are from vastly different Jewish backgrounds, one being an Hasidic Jew and the other a Zionist. Features Rod Steiger, Maximilian Schell as the boys fathers together with Robby Benson and Barry Miller.
