Understand screen representations through the lens of genre

Students explore how screen culture reflects and impacts social values of the time and gets them to ask questions about who is behind the lens, and how this impacts how people, places and issues are represented. This talk considers changing representations through genre film, TV, as well as videogames, and looks at how contemporary storytelling is giving voice to the under-represented.
