Director Neil Huxley talks about how the awesome interactive game trailer for ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of War’ was made.

In 2019 the global videogame market made more than 3.5 times the global film box office – that’s more than the film and music industries combined. Despite the market being so huge, developers are constantly seeking to hook new audiences. So how do developers sell a game? 

Join director Neil Huxley as he discusses the interactive game trailer Middle Earth: Shadow of War and shares the technical and dramatic challenges of crafting virtual worlds and characters that feel natural and emotional, as well as making the everyday appear cinematic and enchanted.

About Neil Huxley

Neil is a writer, director and storyteller specialising in digital and virtual production media from live action to real-time game engines. Emmy nominated, his work has amassed millions of views online globally. Neil’s experience in post-production and VFX led him to art direct the title sequence for Zach Snyder's Watchmen, before working alongside James Cameron on the blockbuster Avatar.

Neil has gone on to direct multiple FX-driven projects that include the launch trailers for many AAA games including Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Mad Max, Rise of the Tomb Raider and the Dead By Daylight franchise. His live action/CG work can be seen in trailers for Assassin’s Creed Unity and Iron Man VR, as well as several live action fight promo films for Ultimate Fighting Championship.

More recently Neil directed the epic, live action interactive film for Middle Earth: Shadow of War and is currently developing his first feature project.
