Name a seat

See your name on a seat in one of our cinemas and support Australia’s museum of screen culture.

Like you, we are dedicated to film. While we get ready to reopen, we want to give you the chance to name or dedicate a seat with a personalised plaque in our world-class cinemas.

For a $2,000 donation, you can dedicate your seat or pledge it to a loved one – you can even honour your favourite director or line from a film with a short, customised message.

You’ll be in good company with our other generous supporters, who have already settled in for the show. Because cinema is a shared experience, and we can’t wait to share it with you again.

Our cinemas

Cinema is more than movies. We enter the dark as strangers but emerge together, united by the stories we’ve seen on-screen. As Australia’s museum of screen culture, we know that what we see on screens changes how we see the world.

With our cinemas currently closed, we can’t wait for you to watch movies how they're meant to be seen again, whether that’s 35mm celluloid or razor-sharp 4K. But we don’t just project the moving image, we celebrate everything about the experience, from choc tops during trailers to the curtains closing on the final frame.

Our world has changed dramatically and as we increasingly engage with the creative work of our screen industries from home, it’s more important than ever to work towards a new ACMI with an enhanced cinema experience that will promote, preserve and present the very best of screen culture.  As part of our renewal project both our cinemas are being upgraded. In collaboration with our Supporting Partner Christie our technical improvements will include the installation of state-of-the-art Christie RGB pure laser 4K projectors. This means, you will be able to watch our films as the filmmakers intended for you to see them on the big screen, with extremely colourful, detailed and true to life 4K images.
