In 2019, the Gandel Foundation awarded ACMI a generous flagship grant that supported a range of education outcomes. Two revitalised education studios – the Gandel Digital Future Labs – opened at ACMI in 2021, and have provided many thousands of students and teachers with access to technology, creative tools, and practical, inspiring learning experiences across filmmaking, game design and media literacy. This partnership has improved access to learning opportunities for both local and regional students, empowering young people to build the skills and creativity essential for the jobs of the future.

The 6a Foundation and Ricci Swart’s generous support focuses on a section of our centrepiece exhibition, Moving Australia. At the heart of The Story of the Moving Image exhibition, this section celebrates the ground-breaking films, television programs and people from in-front and behind the camera, which reflects our unique stories, breathtaking landscapes and explore our national identity.
