Following the latest advice from the Victorian Government ACMI is temporarily closed. Ticket sales for the Seniors Film Festival are currently paused.
We wish our extended ACMI community well during this challenging time. Look after yourself, and each other.
ACMI's annual Seniors' Film Festival returns in hybrid form in 2021, with In-Cinema sessions at Fed Square and a curated selection of films available on ACMI’s online platform, Cinema 3.
In-Cinema sessions at ACMI Cinemas, Fed Square, on Sunday 3 October and Tuesday 5 October feature fascinating documentaries Some Kind of Heaven (2020) and Winter at Westbeth (2016), which both explore unique communities that foster creativity and vitality in the third age; French romantic drama Two of Us (2019), featuring a septuagenarian couple played by stars Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier; and Antoinette in the Cévennes (2020), a would-be romantic comedy set in France's picturesque south that turns into the most delightful 'buddy' film in the most unexpected way.
For the first time, this year's edition of ACMI's Seniors' Film Festival will be a hybrid event. Visit our Virtual Cinema online platform, Cinema 3, for a curated selection of Seniors Film Festival films available online from 27 September – 10 October. ACMI's SFF Cinema 3 program is proudly presented in association with the Victorian Seniors Festival.
