When
Digital isn’t new to our sector. Cultural organisations have been building websites, digitising collections and selling tickets online for decades, and the pandemic moved nearly everyone further online, ready or not. The recent boom in generative AI has created the impression that digital skills, tools, expertise and strategy are more central than ever. So why can digital work still feel so tricky?
Join strategist and adviser Ash Mann and our head of research Dr Indigo Holcombe-James as they take up this question, in a conversation facilitated by Matt Millikan. Ash draws on decades of practical experience to explore what helps digital work take hold inside organisations: who understands it, who backs it and what it takes to make change stick. Indigo shares insights from her new book, Digital Inequality in Cultural Institutions. Based on years of research with institutions worldwide, it shows why the capacity to do digital work is so unevenly shared.
Together, Ash and Indigo look at what could make digital work easier, both within organisations and across the sector as a whole.
