Based on the famous 1980s TVRI series Losmen, this new reboot places the Broto family in the modern setting of the 2020s – and Bu at the head of the family.
Even at the time, the Broto family tackled issues that were considered progressive. The film version would portray a family dealing with issues relevant today, but not without the wisdom and charm that people still remember from the old series.
'Losmen Bu Broto' is a famous family-friendly bed & breakfast in Yogyakarta, managed by Pak Broto and Bu Broto alongside their children; Pur, Sri and Tarjo. For an establishment that seems successful, conflicts slowly rise and create rifts between the family. Pur finds it hard to move on from the death of her fiancee; Sri dreams of being a famous singer but is expected to take over Losmen from her Mother; and Tarjo struggles to be motivated to study. All of these tensions suddenly reach a breaking point when a scandal arises, and the family must overcome their conflicts to face the challenges ahead.
