When you invite someone into your home, how do you treat them? Play along with little Juniper and help her learn the kindness her family lacks.
In the handmade paper diorama of her dollhouse, nine-year-old Juniper untangles her feelings of guilt about how her family treated Magnolia, a refugee who worked as a cleaner in their house. Re-enacting troubled memories with her dolls, an ashamed Juniper finds the courage to disagree with her parents and follow her heart. Using childlike textures inspired by puppetry, this animated interactive XR work explores how power dynamics arise intimately in our homes, passing between generations. Audiences at Cannes, Annecy, BFI London Film Festival and SXSW have already discovered it’s never too late to be kind – can you help Juniper figure out how?
Inside a Tim Burton–style dollhouse … the film seeks to expose the conditions of mistreatment that too many domestic workers around the world endure every day
