Teacher Summit – Games for Change Asia Pacific

Lecture

The Games for Change Asia Pacific Teacher Summit will help you build student engagement in the classroom and beyond using the extensive teaching and learning opportunities provided by videogames.

Join expert teachers revealing how to use videogames in primary and secondary classrooms across a range of curriculum areas.

Keynoting the Teacher Summit is Arana Shapiro - Managing Director and Chief Learning Officer at Games for Change (Global).

Book into the Teacher Summit day and choose one of three morning masterclasses:

  • Experience the critically-acclaimed VR documentary On the Morning you Wake (to the End of the World) with Games for Change 'impact specialists' reframing the threat from nuclear weapons as an urgent social justice issue, relevant to the fight against systemic oppression around the world
  • Play the award-winning augmented reality game Eastern Market Murders with its creator Emma Ramsay, and explore Melbourne’s early dark history and how you can use location based AR games with your students
  • Explore fun and rigorous, STEAM focused Primary lesson plans with experts Megan Pusey and Gary Westmore and open up the opportunities to supercharging your classroom engagement with videogame based learning.

Over lunch play the winning student games from the ACER STEM Videogame Challenge and chat with student creators.

The afternoon is rich with speakers and panellists presenting exemplary classroom practice using videogames to enhance learning across the curriculum and levels.

The G4C Asia Pacific 2022 academic journal will also be available for all participants so you can take the festival home with you!

To discover even more about the significant ways videogames and emerging technologies are being used to advance the way we stay healthy and provide healthcare, the way we teach and learn, and how we can enable positive social change, join the full three-day Games for Change Asia-Pacific festival.

The Teacher Summit to be held on Tuesday 4 October 2022, is part of the three-day Games for Change Asia Pacific festival at ACMI which runs between Tuesday 4 October and Thursday 6 October 2022.
