An immersive journey through Paris' prestigious ballet company through the eyes of two dancers at opposite ends of their careers who must fight to find and keep their places.
Ariane Labed (The Lobster, Trigonometry) stars as Zoe, a 35-year-old principal dancer at the prestigious Paris Opera. After a mid-performance fall, years of drinking and generally taking her tenure for granted, she finds herself at risk of being permanently ousted from the company, triggering a fight response and a need to return to top form, fast.
Leveraging Paris' Palais Garnier to full effect for its stunning interiors, Cécile Ducrocq captures the grandeur of the famous ballet company. Ducrocq, who wears Showrunner and Director hats concurrently, has crafted a series that is a prestige drama, but also a full immersion into the world of professional dance.
Winner of the Best Actress Award for Ariane Labed at Series Mania France.
The first 2 episodes (45 mins each) will screen in this program. The remaining episodes are coming soon to SBS in 2021.
