Expertly blending the visual novel and gaming genres, Florence illustrates one year in the life of a young woman in Melbourne as she falls in love, breaks her daily routine and follows her creative passion.
Developed by Australian craft games studio Mountains, Florence uses innovative gameplay mechanics to represent social interactions. The emotions of the poignant narrative are rendered through tapping and swiping minigames, making them all the more touching.
These interviews focus on how Mountains developed the musical score and tone of the game, working with game composer Kevin Penkin. This video features behind the scenes footage of the soundtrack’s recording session.
