Miss Peach Blossom’s mighty sore and out to settle scores. She’s on the run, just like Little Miss Wonder, the con-artist kid beauty queen, while the ‘ancient wisdom’ Draclubra seeks revenge for being served last in the Lake Corangamite pub. Roles in movies were limited for Aboriginal people in the 1990s, so Destiny created her own plot lines and characters, bringing them to life on these VHS covers of imagined B-movies. In one satirical ‘review’, printed among the lurid blurbs and imagery, we’re told that a viewer ‘chuckled until she spit blood’. This combination of humour and horror demonstrates a key aspect of Destiny’s work – it’s as funny as it is confronting.
