Explains the work of Dr. Frank Hewett in teaching autistic children to talk and identify objects. Shows work with a child and Dr. Hewett attempting to transfer to the child’s parents techniques used successfully to evoke responses. Discusses the possible effectiveness of the approach on other autistic children.
