In September 1977 at Dusseldorf, Germany, a great new world sports series began. Eight teams of top athletes from all continents met to compete for the first ever World Cup of Track and Field Athletics. The film captures some of the most vivid moments and lasting impressions of a unique event, the I.A.A.F. World Cup.
