A history of Greek Macedonia from prehistoric times to the 19th Century. It covers the relationship between Macedonia and early Greece, the life of the greatest of all Macedonians, Alexander the Great, the Ottoman invasion and longterm occupation by the Turks and the 19th Century resistance to the invaders. It also retells the Greek myths and sources of contemporary folk dances in Macedonia.
