Katharine Hepburn plays Amanda Bonner, the defence attorney in the trial of Doris Attinger for the attempted murder of her husband whom she discovers has a mistress. Spencer Tracy is Amanda’s husband, Adam, prosecuting attorney in the same trial. As the trial progresses, Amanda and Adam find they cannot confine their battle to the courtroom, as the issues of sexual equality extend into their home. Also starring Judy Holliday and Tom Ewell.
