After enduring years of constant physical and psychological abuse, Melody shot and killed her husband. This film examines the criminal justice system and the conspiracy of silence surrounding domestic violence, through interviews with Melody, her sister, her lawyer, a psychologist specialising in the effects of domestic violence and the supreme court judge who heard her case. Included is an interview with Phil Cleary, M.P. for Wills whose sister was killed by her partner.
