An animated history of the potato showing how the potato came to Europe, played a key role in the Napoleonic Wars and became a staple food. Includes particular reference to the potato famine which claimed the lives of millions who had come to depend on the potato, and how the potato became resistant to the fungus which caused the famine. Suggested audience: intermediate, secondary, general - English language.
