The Vietnam War was the longest lasting conflict in American history and has a continuing legacy in regards to policy decisions and American society today. Presented in four sections (Early involvement; U.S. Escalation; Reaction at home; Aftershocks), this short documentary provides a general overview from French occupation to the signing of the Paris Peace Treaty in 1973. Cover areas such as; the French Indo-China war, the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, formation of the NLF and Viet Cong, the overthrow of South Vietnam President Ngo Dinn Diem, the Gulf of Tonkin resolution, opposition in America towards President Johnson and the national draft, the Tet Offensive, and the mass migration of Vietnamese following 30 years of fighting.
