Chiara Costanza

After hours, the room hosts one-off sessions, talks, and listening parties from RISING artists who you wouldn’t usually get to see up close. The lineup has been curated by Yasmine Sharaf host of Cease + Desist on Triple R and Robin Fox, co-founder and artistic director of MESS.

Chiara's work spans a wide range of disciplines, from scoring for screen to creating electronic music for live performance, soundscapes for immersive environments, and exploring the experimental use of field recordings.

Her screen composer credits include Netflix’s global hit Heartbreak High, Silenced (Sundance 2026), Totally Completely Fine (STAN Original), The Unusual Suspects (SBS), Panopticon (58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival), Inside (MIFF 2024, Tribeca Film Festival), and the Palme d’Or–winning short All These Creatures (Cannes, 2018).

Chiara was recently nominated for Best Original Score at the 2026 AACTA Awards for the BINGE series Mixtape, which premiered at SXSW in 2025.

In addition to her work in screen composition, Chiara has collaborated with renowned choreographers and visual artists. She has worked with contemporary dance companies like Chunky Move and Prue Lang, as well as visual artists such as Callum Morton and Kris Moyes, creating dynamic, multidisciplinary soundscapes.

Classically trained in piano, Chiara’s journey into electronic music began after relocating to Melbourne in 2004. Her early exposure to the local electronic music scene led her to develop a refined DJing style under the moniker Chiara Kickdrum, performing at renowned festivals including Pitch Music Festival, Meredith Music Festival, and Dark Mofo, as well as supporting acts like Kiasmos, Underground Resistance, and Nina Kraviz.

Her academic pursuits in sound art and design at RMIT University have further expanded her creative practice, with Chiara now lecturing in Interactive Composition at the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music.
