A nightclub stripper wants to have a baby and settle down with her lover. When he refuses, she turns to his best friend. Godard’s third film is also one of his most light hearted and his first in colour and Cinemascope. Although there are the usual references, jump cuts and film quotes the films looks like an homage to the MGM musical. Awards: Cannes Film Festival 1961: Best Actress for Anna Karina.
