Playwright Clement Roquemaure attends the private performance of one of his plays. He then invites the actresses, Charlotte and Emily, to act in a yet to be completed play in his appartment and for a selected audience. A magician named Paul is Clement’s current live-in lover. After the actresses arrive, they find themselves influenced by Paul’s magic and start to see their future, while the story they are enacting stays fairly close to Clement’s own life.
