Maitre Laube is a humble lawyer who is called on to the defense of Simone, a prostitute accused of murdering her lover. The lover was actually killed during a holdup, and was a member of a gang which did bullying favors for local politicians. Faced with Simone’s refusal to cooperate, Laube is left alone to unravel a much more complicated plot than he anticipated.
