Francoise Leroy, a young and unknown writer, has supernatural gifts. She becomes acquainted with Perou, an old millionaire who loathes artists. Perou is smitten by the young woman whom he saw naked once. He starts stalking her and discovers she lives with Richard, a painter, but that she is secretely attracted to Marc, her publisher, to whom she sends letters. Perou intercepts these letters and sends replies to Francoise, pretending to be Marc. Then, he proceeds to help Marc, who is married, to kill his wife. Finally, he invites the young woman and her two rival lovers to spend time at his house. There, the final show down takes place between an old man who has already destroyed several artists’ lives and the young woman with strange powers.
