Antoine Doinel falls for a music student, but spends an evening with her parents while she’s out on a date. This film is one of five internationally produced tales exploring love and young people and titled ‘L’amour a vingt ans’ (Love at twenty). Other participating filmmakers were Rossellini (Italy), Shitaro Ishiara (Japan), Marcel Ophuls (West Germany) and Andrzej Wajda (Poland). As a part of the Antoine Doinel series, this intermediary piece takes place immediately after ‘Les 400 coups’(The 400 blows) and before ‘Baisers voles’ (Stolen kisses).
