Professor Merrell Gage, head of the Department of Sculpture at the University of Southern California, describes the life and career of Abraham Lincoln as he sculptures from clay a life-like bust of the President, making physical changes in the subject’s face, hair, beard and expression to correspond with events in Lincoln’s life.
