Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jnr star in this science fiction tale of a human and an alien Draque - two races who have been taught to hate one another from birth. Earthman Davidge (Quaid) and Draque Jebira Shigan (Gossett Jnr) are both stranded on the deserted planet Tyrine IV and must rely on one another to survive, giving each an appreciation and understanding of the other they would not have thought possible. When Jebira dies giving birth to Zammis, a new era begins. Elation turns to tragedy years later when a spaceship lands on the planet, occupied by brutal men who keep Draques as slaves. While trying to protect Zammis, Davidge is shot, presumed dead and Zammis is taken prisoner aboard the ship…
