In France 1917, heroic corporal Jericho Jackson accidently kills his abusive seargent. He is charged with the murder but escapes from military prison leaving his friend Captain Mack behind to face a five year prison sentence after being accused of assisting his escape. When Captain Mack is released in 1922, he vows to track down and capture Jericho who has by this time has made a home for himself in North Africa, practicing medicine and uniting the disparate Arab tribes on the annual salt caravan. When Mack finally confronts Jericho, has difficulty destroying the life he has built. Stars Paul Robeson, Henry Wilcoxon, Wallace Ford, John Laurie, Princess Kouka. Paul Robeson sings several songs including ‘Brother are you going my way?’.
