Series 2, episodes 1-7. “If fish could fly” (Dir: Ali Ali); Pearl Bay is once again isolated from Port Deakin following the destruction of the bridge in an unpredictable storm. Kevin is sued by a backpacker who lost his manuscript in the storm, and Laura and Dan officially become a couple. “Vaya Con Dios to all that” (Dir: Ali Ali); Bob is summoned to court for failing to lodge a tax return, Angus is attracted to the new tax prosecutor, who is more interested in Bob, Dan tries to persuade Laura to leave Pearl Bay and travel the world with him and Rupert runs away. “Broken hearts and crustaceans” (Dir: Mandy Smith); Max Connors arrives back in the bay, bringing his wife Elena who dreams of a happy reunion between Max and his father. Heather reveals the truth about her birth parents to Bob and the people of Pearl Bay lose their savings when Bob makes a shady deal. “Sink or swim” (Dir: Mandy Smith); Laura compares her failed relationships to Max and Elena’s happy marriage. Rupert and Trevor’s friendship is endangered by a paper route, and Bob becomes the town hero when he recovers the missing money. “Head for water” (Dir: Sue Brooks); the town is grieving over Elena’s death when Bucket’s dog is found drowned in the Pearl Bay swimming pool. Carmen returns to Pearl Bay and convinces Max to start a local newspaper and Angus is upset by the disappearance of the sandbar. “The house that Jack built” (Dir: Sue Brooks); the town is being threatened by monster crabs; Jack begins to build his house in Port Deakin, Laura receives a letter from Elena who asks her to be there for Max and Trudi makes a shocking announcement. “Looking forward to the past” (Dir: Steve Jodrell); The town are shocked when Bob arranges for a multinational corporation to sponsor the annual “Pearl Bay Port Festival” and Karen fears she may lose Angus when his ex-girlfriend arrives in town. Guest stars include Robert Grubb and Nicki Wendt.
