Film version of Giuseppe Verdi’s tragic opera Rigoletto shot at the Teatro Dell’opera, Rome. This tale of revenge, rape and murder stars the highly acclaimed singer, Tito Gobbi in the role of Rigoletto supported by Mario Filippesche (Duke of Mantua), Anna Maria Canali (Maddalena) and Marcella Govoni acting in the role of Gilda with Lina Pagliughi singing the role of Gilda. Features the Chorus and Orchestra of Teatro Dell’opera, Rome, conducted by Tullio Serafin. Sung in Italian.
