Exhibited Films

Hyperconnect
Directed by Jim Muntisov, 2024
Remy spent the pandemic isolating in their room; working as a freelance artist, falling down internet rabbit holes and hanging out online with their overseas best friend Bea. As lockdown restrictions ease up and Bea begins a new full-time job, the two are forced to readjust how they communicate and stay connected; working on conflicting schedules across different time-zones. Remy tries to fill the void Bea left while remaining within the confines of their bedroom, spawning anxieties about their identity, social life and feelings for their best friend that begin to overwhelm them.

Black Trans Miracle
Directed by Tinaye Nyathi, 2022
Lindani, a neurotic young trans man, struggles to tell his partner Tam he loves them after a random encounter with a stranger shakes his self-confidence. But as he finds himself pushed and pulled in all directions by the perceptions of others, can Lindani reconnect with himself enough to figure out how he really feels?

Crepuscular
Directed by Stone Motherless Cold, 2024
A short film with transhuman drag beings awakening at dusk to prepare for the long night ahead.

Teddy
Directed by Thea Raveneau, 2024
A sympathetic Sister and an ignorant Brother navigate their relationship over a movie and their childhood teddy.
TILDE
TIL•DE (NOUN\’TIL-D \): A SYMBOL (~) INDICATING EQUIVALENCY OR SIMILARITY BETWEEN TWO VALUES/APPROXIMATIONS.
TILDE is Australia’s trans and gender diverse Screen Festival. Their focus is on the margins: those who live, work and create on the periphery of dominant cultures.
As we enter a new era of trans-authored cinema, TILDE looks to Australia’s emerging filmmakers to convey trans experiences through a new visual language.
