Accessible ACMI entrances
Wheelchair access is made easy through the following entry points at ACMI:
Galleries level (ground floor)
Enter via the ramp from Flinders Street.
To the left of the rotating doors; press the button next to glass doors for an automatic entrance.
Accessibility entrance (galleries floor)
Take the path from Flinders St, between the main ACMI entrance and Beer Deluxe.
Enter via the glass doors, take the lift to get into the building, to level 1.
Level 1
Enter via our entrance from the centre of Fed Square.
Parking
Parking is made easy with two accessible car spaces on each level of the Fed Square car park. If you have the correct permits, parking can also be found at:
Flinders Street
Corner of Degraves and Flinders Street
Flinders Lane
On Flinders Lane between Elizabeth Street and Exhibition Street
Arts Centre
Outside of the Arts Centre
Accessible toilets
Amenities with wheelchair access are available at the following areas:
On the galleries level
Down the corridor next to the escalators
On level 1
To the right of the escalators, next to the Cafe
Inside gallery 1
At the end of the gallery
Lifts
Lift A - To access level 1 and the Cinemas level
Located behind the ticket desk on level 1 (opposite the escalators). Wheelchair spaces are available in each cinema.
Lift B - To access the Galleries level and level 1
Located opposite the Australian Mediatheque on level 1 and next to Screen Worlds on the ground level.
Lift C - To access Gallery 1
Located on the Galleries level between the entrances to Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.

Assistance & Support
Companion and carer support
Companion Cards, registered in Victoria and interstate, provide card holders with free access to ACMI programs.
Wheelchairs
Show your ID at the Tickets desk to hire a wheelchair for free. Wheelchair access is available in all of our spaces.
Visually impaired warning markers
Markers on the floor before each step show a change of level on the ground.
Guide dogs
Guide Dogs and registered assistance dogs are welcome to ACMI. But only registered animals - No pets, thanks!
Hearing loops
Show your ID at the Tickets and Information desk to collect free hearing loops for the ACMI cinemas, Studio 1 and ACMI X Social Space (Collect from ACMI X Reception).
Devices connect with headphones or hearing aids via a neck loop. The ACMI Cube has a built in Hearing Loop.
Travellers Aid equipment hire
Travellers Aid provides equipment hire, including manual wheelchairs and motorised scooters.
To hire equipment, visit Travellers Aid or call 03 9610 2030. Pre-booked equipment requires a fee and can be collected at Flinders Street station (just opposite Fed Square & ACMI) or Southern Cross station.
